What I Love About the Focus WordPress Theme

Well, here’s my criteria for making this hands down the best option out there for me at least…

1. Speed

There’s no point having an impressive looking site if it takes ages to load, especially when well over half of surfers today are viewing sites from mobile devices. After all, just take a look around you when out in public where most people are heads down looking at their mobile screens.

Did you know that over 59% of total web traffic in June 2022 was viewed on a mobile device?¹ Mobile devices struggle to load big, clunky pages, so you need to make sure your website is lean and loads fast, fast, fast!

2. Clarity

Hopefully, you’ve arleady noticed that my site is simply laid out which makes the message of every page crystal clear. That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens by design and it’s all baked into the Focus WordPress Theme auto-magically. Excellent typography and beautifully balanced layouts.

3. Support

An added bonus is the support forum that’s included as part of the package. There’s an extensive forum where most of the common and nuanced questions about using the theme have already been answered directly by the Founder, Chris Pearson, or by other helpful forum members. If you’ve got a question that’s ultra-specific to your site, you can ask your question and Chris or others will respond – usually within hours.

Some Dislikes About the Focus WordPress Theme

No matter what WordPress theme you choose, there’s always pros and cons to it. The Focus WordPress Theme is no different.

Here are some dislikes I have about the Focus Theme:

1. Initial Design

When you first install the Focus Theme, the initial design is very plain and bland. However, that is intentional so that you can effectively have a blank slate on which to work on and add your own distinctive touches to have a site that looks exactly how you want it to.

For a beginner, it can be difficult to know what to do to spice up the design of their site from the get-go. That is why I’ve created a special bonus to walk you through how to turn the initial design into an impressive looking website by following some simple steps.

2. Extensive Interface

Because the Focus Theme gives you so many different ways to precisely tweak just about every element of your page at the click of a button, the interface has a LOT of options and sections.

In a way, this is a good thing because it allows you to tweak the elements of your site with surgical precision… and all without getting your hands dirty or needing to know any code. It just takes a while to learn where all the different options are, where to go and what options to select.

Despite these things that I don’t like about the Focus Theme, I’ve put in the time to learn how to design impressive looking sites using Focus. Therefore, I’m now familiar with the interface and know my way around it so the above points are no longer an issue for me.

Besides, the theme is so damn good and performs so well it’s worth the learning curve to get over these minor bumps. There is extensive online documentation covering the main elements of the Focus theme. There’s also loads of YouTube videos offered by the creator of the Focus Theme, Chris Pearson.
