A while back, I took the plunge and invested in Canon’s first foray into full frame mirrorless body… the Canon EOS R. I got it with the 24-105mm f4 kit lens.
Before making the purchase, I already knew that the EOS R came with a number of obvious limitations… The Crop at 4k, Slow-Mo at only 720p, The unconvincing Multi-Function Bar. But I still went ahead with the purchase. Why? Well, because of the overwhelming list of positive things on the other side of the argument…
The Flippy Screen (Oh Yeah!)
The flippy screen is an obvious benefit to vloggers and people who take a lot of selfie photos and videos.
The Touch Screen
Not only does the Canon EOS R come with the flippy screen, the screen is also fully touchable, just like a smartphone screen.
The Simple Canon Menu System
The menu system on the Canon EOS R is so simple and such a delight to use. Everything is easy to find and quick to access (especially with the touch screen).
The Canon Colours
I don’t want to waste a lot of time in post-production tweaking pictures and footage, especially if an effective camera can get the colours looking great out of the box.
